Introduced in 1945 the Oyster Perpetual Datejust was the first wrist watch to feature a date display, clearly visible with a special magnifying Cyclops lens. This pre owned watch is a 2001 model which includes the box and papers in the original dark green Rolex wallet. It also includes the original Rolex Datejust booklet and a further wallet holding the Official Chronometer Certification and 2001/2002 calendar. This model also has the original Rolex swing ticket and Rolex Red Seal officially certified chronometer ticket. The Official Chronometer rating is given to this self winding movement housed in the 36mm steel case with 18ct Gold fluted bezel. A sapphire glass protects the champagne dial. The watch is waterproof to 100m/330 feet. The Jubilee bracelet is made from 18ct Yellow gold and 904L stainless steel. Rolex use 904L steel as it is a super alloy which marries perfectly with the 18ct gold. It is extremely tough and highly polishable, normally reserved for the chemical industry where maximum resistance against corrosion is essential.
